I am upgrading one of my customers to the 7.1 s/w in their 0x32 phone system, if the battery is good in the cartridge it should be as simple as removing the old s/w card and replacing it with the 7.1.
Am I correct?
Question #2:
When upgrading is done on the flash vmail is all the customer messages stored on the flash card?
Thanks.

If you want to retain the database, you can only upgrade a MICS to 7.1 from 6.1. If your upgrading from below 6.1 you must upgrade in stages and stop at 6.1.
Flash upgrade may or may not retain the memory, there is no gaurantee.
Always upgrade voice mails 1st.

Correct me if I am wrong but I think you need a minimum of 2.0 on the Flash to work with 7.1.
I found this out the hard way.
