Just an FYI

Customer was forced to upgrade from 3.0 to 4.0 after hard drive failed, and of course no recent backup (not that it could be used on 4.0 anyways)

Installed a new 4.0 hard drive and loaded current patches. The new Core and Core Upload Provider patches include a "Force MSC Upload" option when you do a warm reset of telephony. It does come up with a warning that this is not supported (I guess so Nortel doesn't get blamed if system defaults during operation) but according to tech support, they have had over a 90% success rate of things working. Good odds when the other means doing a cold reset and reprogramming telephony from scratch.

Looks like Nortel has finally made a patch that helps techs out,,, and it even works!
