Customer has a BCM 450 with PRI. One department has 3 phones, dn 236, 237, 238. Only 236 has a line appearance and the target line is appear and ring.
There is often only one person in the office, so they want only 236 to ring, and if the target line is in use, by any of the 3 phones, they want the next caller to get a busy.
The other 2 phones use group pickup to answer calls when 236 rings.
Is there anyway to make the second caller get a busy? Thanks!
Jim

It's been awhile...but I'm thinking along the lines of:
>Prime Set >When busy >Busy tone?

Currently, if 236 is on the phone, a second call will cause a muted ring at 236. Yes, only one appearance on 236. Other sets have no line appearance.
Danny, I did have 'when busy, then busy tone' already set, but discovered I didn't have a prime set assigned for the TL. Will see if that helps.

Did some test calls and we're making progress.
If an incoming call is answered at 236, then a second caller gets a busy. Good.
If an incoming call is answered by 237 using her group pickup key to answer 236 when it rings, then a second caller still causes a ring at 236.
Is there another way to do this without using group pickup?

Tried that Curlycord, but got ringing for the second caller. In the HG add members, I had to make each dn member ring only, appear only, or AR. No choice to be nothing.
It is working as Danny described now, as long as the actual phone at 236 is in use. Would an answer dn on 237 and 238 help?
Thanks. Jim

You dont want or cant have "nothing" otherwise you cant take the call. A&R or RO works best. Did you make Prime Set the HG DN?
Answer DN's might work.

Yes, did make the HG DN as prime set. Still get a ring from second caller.

A PRI with only ONE person in the office?
The info you are giving you don't need a PRI. You need a POTS line with no hunting. First caller rings in. Second caller gets busy.
PRI is overkill for one person especially for how you want it to work.
( you could de-provision all channels except one )
If CON is the opposite of PRO Then what is the opposite of Progress?
