Never done this swap before...
Any pitfalls or shortcuts that anyone can suggest would be greatly appreciated. I am not Panasonic Certified, but I have been able to maintain the 816 for a customer who now needs more lines and extensions.

You'll have to program it from scratch but other then that it programs the same way.
You have 2 MOH and 2 Ext. page also and the ability to connect 2 cabinets together.
Is there voicemail?

Yes, there's a TVS50 on the 816 that we will move over to the 1232. DPT should take care of that, shouldn't it?

There's a good chance you won't have to change anything in the TVS 50.
Setup your voicemail ports on the TD1232 in 117 and I believe you will be good to go.
With the upgrade to the 1232 you may want to consider upgrading the TVs to a 125 as well.
More ports and it's expandable.
