bought new 624 system with 7736 phones for home system. tech set up intial system has has been unavailable to finish. how do i set up intercom to other extensions / rooms and should i get the freeware progammator i saw recommeded by someone. is it safe? hard to use? want to set up same info on all phones (12) and make one button page all, and some phones are set up so that if someone on line, cannot pickup to have 2 on same line. Thanks.

If your phones are working they already have an Ext. number. pressing * while the phone is idle will change the display to show you your Ext. number. dialing Intercom 33* will page all phones. That software wont work on the 624 has to be programmed via phone.

I have to tell you the question comes to mind, WHY can't the original installer finish the job.
Do you have the manuals?
It sounds like there may be a $$$ dipute here.
Look in the user manual and check out DSS keys, one touch dialing,(for one touch feature access like paging) and you need to set all the phones to receive "busy executive overide" to access a busy line.

no dispute. small guy, too busy. not enough people. did me a favor to get guys in for 2 days to get phones working and tv's hooked up. needs to get back to finish intercoms and tv brackets and stereo install. gave me approx 2 week wait and my wife is anxious to finish at least the intercom (she doesn't care about stereo!. I told her I would see if I can get it going. She like the feature and uses it constantly to call kids. he did this before in getting quotes on revisions he mad to stereo. risk of using small guy. but I like him, he's good and trustworthy.

you can put the paging on one button if you like
press prog
press button you want to set
dial 2
dial 33*
press store
as for 2 people on one call i think your talking about a confrence call
if so
while talking to a person on a outside call press conf
dial an extention
(this places the outside person on hold )
speak to new ext
press conf again
this brings the outside caller into the conversation with you and the extention
