I have inherited a site with a Panasonic 824 and TVS50 Voice Processing System. when a call is transferred from the auto-attendant, it takes about 45-60 seconds (of dead air) before going into the voice mail. Is there something in the programming that could be causing this or does it sound like the drive is going bad?
Thank you once again for any insight/suggestions

Rich

Rich, what system is this actually connected to?
A TD, TA or DBS?
I doubt if it's the drive as the TVS 50 doesn't have one, [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]
It's a flash unit.
Have you went over all the programming in the TVS.
Connect up with hyper-term, 9600, 8, N and 1 with no flow control.
Use a NULL modem cable or adapter.
Are you sure that there is'nt dead air on the greetings?

Thanks MrGemini - I'm not that familiar with the Panasonic (can you tell : >). It is connected to a DBS - the system was working fine until about 2 weeks ago. The phone extension rings, but the caller does not hear the ring tone. The extension rings for about 45-60 seconds before picking up. I have a TVS75 in my "lab" that I have been messing around with just to try to get accustomed to the program options (so my customer is not paying for my learning curve onsite). Is there something in the programming that you suggest I look at or are the 75 and 50 too different to compare?

Thank you very much once again -

The 75 has an actual hard drive but the programming is similar.
I would go over all the TVs programming 1st but it could very well be something in the DBS.
The TVS units were actually designed for the CSD division, TD, TA and such.
DBS generally used the "Panavoice" units.

Though I don't know why it takes so long to transfer the call, I do know why the callers don't hear ringback--the DBS systems don't provide ringback!
