i have a panasonic kxt 816, it came 4x8 and i added a 4c0 and an 8ext. when i try to access lines 5 & 6 it says not assigned. how do i assign the additional lines and stations. it seems that i have added a 4co to other systems and the lines came right up. i don't have a laptop with panasonic software.
thanks

You sure you aren't talking about an KXTD 816? You can program it with a set on jack 1. Use program 400 to assign lines to the system.

sorry i do have a kxtd-816, and when i scroll through the programs i did not see 400. what is it called? i went through them a few times and never saw anything that said to add lines. however i did see one deal where it said lines and 12345678 were all in there.

It's called (CO Connection) Program 400 is for co lines that are connected to the system, check and make sure lines 5 and 6 are set to Connect, you may want to check 401 as well.

I do remember seeing that program and i think that it had 12345678 displayed. if that is so then what else could it be. do i need to select the co's individually in 400? i'm going there after business hours so i am trying to get as much info as possible. thanks.

You may also have to set 605+606 day/night access for each CO for each extension

do you have the cards assigned properly? By default the CO lines are on bottom, extensions on top. If that's not how you have them you can change it in program 109. Reset the system after changing. The middle jack on the CO card is for lines 5 & 6 and the bottom is 7 & 8You also have to make sure that the new CO lines are assigned to the sets your checking. MrG

THAT IS WHAT I NEEDED TO KNOW. I HAD THE POSITION OF THE CARDS WRONG. PROGRAM 109 FIXED THAT PROBLEM. THANKS FOR THE DETAILED INFO.
