Hi, we have a 308 easaphone model kxt30810 with kxt7020 sets. What is happening is when line 2 is answered on one phone (the boss'd phone!), the call can be heard on the speakers of two different phones in the office. (not good... for the boss that is, especially if he's talking to his girlfreind...) The set we use for programming is not one of the ones that has the speaker come on. Any ideas what's wrong?

I suspect that the other phones' background music feature is turned on, yet there is no music source connected to the system. The wiring for line 2 or the boss' extension may pass by the music input closely-enough to the music input jack to where electromagnetism is allowing the audio to be picked up.

If the volume of these calls is relatively low, then I'll bet that's what is happening. If you just go to the phones (without lifting the handset or pressing speaker) and press the 1 button on the dial pad, this toggles background music on/off. Try doing this and see if it has any effect.

If not, you should try powering the phone system down by disconnecting the power cord from the wall outlet for about 30 seconds and reconnecting it. Please keep in mind that this system is very old, so in doing this, you risk losing the system's programming if the memory battery is weak. If you have survived a recent power outage, then you should be safe in doing this.
