Hello,

I have a Panasonic KX-TD1232 with a voicemail system model TVS100 and I have the following issue:

I use the terminal to program the Voice Mail. I go to Program, Service Settings, Automated Attendant, Operator's parameters, Day Mode, and in Operator 1 I try to change the Operator's extension and it stubborny says "Incorrect Entry" for all but a few existing extensions, and for other numbers that are not assigned to extensions. I was wondering if there was a restriction about which extensions are allowed to be operators? If you need more information I'll gladly provide it. Thanks in advance for your help

Hi Agustin,
Are the numbers that are being accepted starting with the same lead numbers i.e 201-220 and the others that are being rejected are something else i.e 401-420. if so you have to enter lead numbers in systems parameters, pabx settings i.e 2xx or 4xx. Normaly 2xx and 3xx are only ones set as default.Did you run auto set-up of mailbox's as this should pick up the lead no.s
Or
You could leave the operator as 0 in voice mail and change the extension you want as operator in program 006 on kxtd

If the extension you are trying to assign has a mailbox assigned to it, the entry won't be accepted. The default "0" is aligned with mbx 998 (GDM). If you use a custom menu to route your calls, you can assign any valid extension to be "0".

Hello,

Thanks for your responses. The numbering plan I use is 7xxx where xxx are the extension numbers. My GDM mailbox is therefore 9998 and the manager is 9999.

I tested your hypotheses. I connected to the voice mail and tried to set the following extensions as operators:

7101 - accepted. The extension is not in use. No existing mailbox
7102 - rejected. In use. The mailbox exists.
7103-6 - accepted. Not in use.
7107 - rejected. In use. Existing mailbox
7108-9 - accepted. Not in use.

I see a pattern here. Like you say, unused extensions with no mailbox are accepted in the range 7101-7121. 7122 is configured (via program 006) as Operator-1 and manager and is accepted.

But 7123 is in use, has a mailbox and is accepted. Its jack is 27-2, that's because there is a digital phone connected to 27-1. But other digital extensions and their analogical companions (e.g. 7132 connected to 25-2) are rejected. 7171 is a digital phone and is accepted as operator 2 but not as operator 1. That extension is programmed (via program 006) as operator-2, should I clear that programming so it can be operator-1 as well?

I'll test other extensions in the range 2xx and 4xx to see what happens.
