i have a customer who would like to expand his system and i need to add an additional cabinet. in the manual it says that both cabinets have to have the same software version. do they mean the rom version ( prog 116 ) are do they mean some thing else. i see no other reference to software in the manual. thanks

They are talking about the version which is located on the silver sticker on the cabinet. The version number will be circled.

CCtech, 94 is correct, however if a cabinet has been upgraded the only way to know for sure is through program field 116.
Can you post the string that's in field 116 ?

this cabinet does not have a sticker on it anywhere. in field 116 the string is 231m81002a. hope this helps. thanks

CC, is there a P before the 231m81002a ?
P231M-----A would be a version 3

yes there is a P . sorry i didn't say so at first. so that is version 3.

Claud, if it's a P211D-----A then it's also a version 3

211D is Version 4

The only IC's that I have listed as "Version 3" are 231M and 231U.

CC, your 211D can be "downgraded". Give me a call for the skinny.

Joe, I'll send you a copy of the Tech. sheet showing that P211D is version 3.
I just checked it again and P211DA is shown as version 3 & also listed under version 4.
Once I seen it listed under version 3 I didn't go any further.
I can't say as to whether both versions had that designation or Panasonic made a typo. :shrug: You've got mail.
