Anyone tried hooking up Talk-Back or Zone Paging to the EPG ports on a TDA? I couldn't get it to work at all. Had to move it to an unused CO Port, and then I had some delay issues I had to work around. This was not a problem on the TD systems.
And it didn't help that Tech Supports canned response was: "we only support Loop CO lines being attached to our CO Cards"

I have a site with a TDA100 using zone paging. There's a detection timer in the switch that hast to be reduced to remove the delay you are experiencing. I am not sure exactly what program address it was, but I can look at the backup later if you still need help.

Is the detection timer for the CO port? I have it working on the CO port and did have to change a timer. My issue is that it should work over the normal External Page Port and not have to be set up on a unused CO port.
If I have a customer that needs 8 lines I have to buy a 8 Port Loop Start Card just for one port for paging. Or start with a 16 Port Card. Which seems kinda silly since it's supposed to have 2 external page zones built in.

Why should Panasonic or any other manufacturer provide two way transmission on a page port? Of the systems I have sold, you have very few that don't just put an amplifier on the page port and it's one way.
Now in the old Comdial days, you could make any voice port or trunk port page so it was 2-way, but it seems to me that Partner, Panasonic, Vodavi, and the like were one way paging only, ans some of them wouldn't even let you send dtmf to a Valcom zone page on the page port.

the delay is with the inter digit muteing on co lines. I had this problem using a co line as a hot line, there is 10 second delay before mute is released on line . you can change this but it will affect all co lines and cause reorder tone to kick in quicker, if the timer is reduced. the only way i could do was set up a button with 80611 and put that line in to group 6 and that sent 2 DTMF tones on the line to get the system to release the mute as it waits for 2 digits or 10 seconds to end inter-digit timer
