Customer has a TA 308 in his house. Constant hiss on all extensions. I unplugged all ext and lines and plugged a phone into each station port individually and the hiss is always there. Any Ideas?
I am also looking for a fax detection card (TA-30891) and all my searches point to eastern Europe. Any American sources?

The background music feature has been activated at your phones with no music source connected. Pressing the digit "1" on the dial pad while the phone is completely idle will toggle this feature on or off. Do not lift handset or activate speakerphone to do this, just press 1 on the dial pad. It's just that simple.
Resources for any recently-discontinued Panasonic products are going to be very difficult to find. When their products are discontinued, this usually occurs when the products are hugely-popular. They simply pull the plug with little to no warning. It will take 5-7 years before parts for this system are readily-available. The item you are seeking is rare, but you might get lucky with their national parts center (800-833-9626).
Thanks but it's not the BGM. That was a problem on 2 of the phones and we turned it off. This is when you are using the phone. You can just barely detect it behind the dial tone but when you dial a number to clear the tone, you can hear it clearly. Its on all station ports. All ports tested individually with EVERYTHING else disconnected (no lines or stations), so it's definitely coming from the system.
Thats handy info about the discontinuation. I'll pass it along to the customer.
