I have just installed a used KXTD 816 and TVP voice mail system, 2 incoming lines and 6 extensions, for our church. I was able to program the mailboxes and greetings. Now the minister wants only the auto attendant to answer and using the custom scripts to shunt callers to the correct extension. I have already programmed the scripts successfully. However, since my wife is the church secretary and I call her often it irks me to wait for 4 rings at least before I hear the opening script and I can press the digit for her extension. Is there any way to reduce the number of rings before the opening script is played. The church does not use FAXes nor at this time Caller ID. Any help with be appreciated.

welcome to the BB. The ringing is in the KSU, not the voice mail. Delayed ringing is a type of timer.

This board is for the assistance of those items in the user's guide. Ringing is a non-user item on this system. Be careful making any changes. If you have difficulties, contact either one of the Panasonic MODs or anyone else who is willing to assist you off the board. There may be a charge for that assistance.

Good luck.

Myron,
If you're familiar with the phone system programming, check pgm 407-408 and direct ringing to the voicemail pilot number. If this goes over your head, then you need an experienced Panasonic installer.
