Hi all,

Please bear with me as I know absolutely nothing about phone systems - I have been dropped in at the deep end.

I am providing IT services to a company who have a KX-TD1232 with an 8 extension card fitted.
I have connected all of the extensions we are using 201 to 222 and they are all working fine. They can all dial out, dial between each other and take incoming calls.

The problem I have is that multiple extensions ring when we receive an incoming call. This is not what I want - I want only extension 201 to ring when we receive an incoming call - this will then be transferred manually to the relevant extensions. Only if 201 doesn't pick up should the call go somewhere else (211, then 210)

I have the installation manual and have gone through all of the system programming to find out how to do this - the problem is that I don't know which program to change to achieve this.

Can anyone explain in simple terms (without using too much terminology) what I need to do?

Many thanks

Alan

look at program 603/604 dil 1:n extension and delay ringing

program phones not to ring - no ring
immediate to ext 201,
put 211 and 210 on delay ring of 2ring, 4 ring, this is the amount of times the other extension rings before they start.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I've done that on CO01 and it is still the same.
Do I need to do it on CO02, CO03 etc?

Thanks

What type of phones are you using? Typically, the 200 range of extensions are reserved for analog single line telephones. If these are multibutton phones they would normally be in the 100's extension range. Jack 01-1 = ext 101 Jack 01-2 = ext 201. This would be a reason that when you program ext 201 ringing assignments nothing changes.

Hi,

Using KX-T7433.

Should I reprogram the jacks to 101, 102, 103 etc?

Cheers

It would appear that I cant change the extension numbers.

They are set to 201, 202, 203 etc
All I can do is change which jack is assigned which extension number.

Program 603/604 dil 1:n extension and delay ringing is linked to jacks anyway and not extensions so it shouldn't matter....should it?

Cheers

if you are from ST Helens, UK then the number range is correct, as all uk and Ireland panasonic systems start with the 200 range and the xdp is 300's.
Yes you do need to do it for all co's.
To check the phone jack's are correct press program 996 on the phone, it should come pu with jack 01-1 Ext 201

Hi guys - thanks for all the help.

I've sorted it now - I had programmed 603 (Day) but not 604 (night).

Reprogrammed it correctly and now everything works as it should.

Thanks again guys for all the help.

Thanks OBT for the info about ext no's. Just curious now, what is the flex numbering scheme for paging zones? Is this the tip of the iceberg as to what is different from yours and ours?

No problem Alan.

Ictelco,

paging was external 62- pager 1-4

63 plus ext group no. 1-64
63* = all page

The kxtda systems are now much the same number plans except of extension default number range range
