Hello, All:
I'm feeding my Magic Jack into my TD as a CO line that used to be occupied by a telco line. When the telco line is connected to the system, caller ID is received just like it should. When the MJ dial tone is connected to the same CO port, CID does not work.
I have connected the MJ dial tone directly to a CID display and it works fine.
I remember having problems with CID on TD systems in the past that was attributed to CO line polarity, so I reversed it to no avail.
My guess is that the MJ is sending the data burst prematurely and the system isn't ready to receive it. I'm pretty sure that I already know the answer to my own question, but is there a timer setting anywhere that can be adjusted on the TD for this? Of course, the MJ "people" aren't going to offer any kind of usable answer.
The only thing that I can think of is that the telco CO line is sending name & number, but the MJ is only sending the number. Could that be the problem? I'm grasping at straws here, so any suggestions will be appreciated.
