Hello my Panasonic friends,

I recently installed a TVA200 on a TDA100. I'm getting very poor audio quality on all 4 ports - both prompts and recordings sound very crackly and distorted.

FYI - I tried the alaw codec for the KSU but it didn't make a difference. I've also initialized the VM unit which did not result in any difference.

Suggestions? Pooched vmail?

The 1st thing that comes to mind is bad wiring between the TDA & the TVA.
You mentioned all 4 ports, you did try all 8 extensions?
Did you try using different ports on the TDA maybe even a different card.

I believe the TVA uses a step down transformer with a ferrite choke on it. Maybe the power supply is bad. Maybe dirty power? Did you try a good ups with true AVR?
Is the unit grounded to a known good earth ground?
That's all I can think of for now.

Thanks Mr G,
The ferrite choke is on the power supply, and the power is being filtered through a cheap powerbar. The unit is not grounded, but I can give that a shot.

Thanks for your input - cheers. smile
