TVA50 on KX824

When a caller choose option 1 from the custom menu, and the extension is busy, the caller gets' This line is busy, to continue to hold press 1 otherwise press 2. How can i change this to:

You are caller number ..., please hold.
(without having the caller press 1, 2 etc) or asking the caller for 'what would you like to do'

In one of the settings, Call Queuing Announcement Mode
is on, but still the caller gets "if you would like to hold etc''

How can this be programmed?

Someone can correct me if i'm wrong but you don't get call queuing options while you are in a custom dialing menu only if you are in the auto attendant if you have option 1 defined as transfer to an ext thats exactly what it will do....

press 1 goes to extension 100.

on the 824, ext 100 is in circular group, so if not picked up it goes to 101.

In custom Menu, you only have the options for:
1. Mbx
2. Ext
3. Operator
4. Tr to Out
5. Exit
6. Pr Menu
7. Cust. Menu

Thats why i have set to 2.

How do you setup call queuing when the caller choose option 1?

There are no options with regard to announcements about other callers in queue. That is an ACD/UCD function. The only way to alleviate this issue is to change the transfer mode to "blind" or "unsupervised" and forward all stations in the system to voice mail upon no answer, upon busy or both.

you would have to set a port/trunk service to auto attendant then you are not in custom dialing menu
I know were you are going with this and the tvs does't not stack/sequence calls very well and if you have a load of lines more then 2 its a resource hog on a little 2 port tva 50. The way I do it ( I haven't done an 824 since 02 ) I use TDA 50g and OGM card disa and you get a true call queue .....and the tva voicemail catches calls with custom dialing menus if necessary...

Ed,
When the caller press 1, how can i send this to a "group". The group has 10 persons, and when all are busy the caller hears' please hold for the next available repr" instead of voicemail?

Ed there are actually some basic call queuing features in the auto attendant but how the heck would you get them there from a cdm without doing a vm port to vm port transfer....

If you had an extra port and ext available you in theory could add that extra ext to your circular hunt group connect it to a CO port and set port service on that port to auto attendant service.....

Even if i try with 3 CO lines, and use
Ext 107 and 108 for VM, its not going.

2 calls in Q, when line 3 rings the caller gets:
This line is busy, if you would like to hold, press 1 otherwise press 2.

i would like this to change to a 'auto hold feature' with call queuing instead of 'if you would like to hold..'

Sorry, you got the wrong phone system.
There are ways to trick it.
One would be press 1 transfer to an ext with a loud ringer or strobe that the group can see or hear, then do a directed pickup to answer call.
There are hunt groups, but only circular or terminated, and always start with the same ext and hunt in the order.
In above setup you could have multiple ext with ringers in a hunt group if you are real busy.
You also need more VM ports. Latest firmware will let you run 4 ports APITS.

so lets say your queue idea worked when the 3rd call came in it would ring off the hook untill a vm port was available ....

I am just wondering what happened too the old pick up the phone when it rang went away.....

The 3call goes on hold somehow. I just need an option to remove that 'to continue to hold press 1, other wise i will try your party again' i would like to change that to: "please hold' without having the customer pressing options.

yep 50G or a TDE 100 would do nicely don't know the rules there but here you need to be a panasonic dealer to purchase and install the tda/e/ncp series!!

if you find that you can't buy the tda a kx-taw 848 will do it !

Was just looking at 848 software specifically queuing time table and group settings and timers
and sequences and it will do what you want with 4 calls with redundant queuing tables and ogm's without putting weight on the voicemail system
the 5th or 6th calls could be irna to a custom dialing menu that puts you back into the queue ....
your application if you were not looking for big bells and whistles that the TVA 50 has you could do a small call centre with 2 MSG2 Cards And a SVM2
with out the TVa...
