I have a customer that just purchased a KX-TA824 on line to replace his KX-T30810. 3 reasons for upgrade/replacement, 1 - static on CO lines (proven to be in the PBX), 2 - caller ID wanted/needed, 3 - doorphone static.

New 7735 phones also purchased and working well.

I reused the Door phone on the new TA824 and installed a 4 port door phone card. Now when the door phone is activated, there is a terrible feedback coming from the door phone. I have optioned only 1 doorphone in the system programming. Could the feedback be coming from the 2nd door phone connection within the same plug on the doorphone card? Or will the customer have to purchase a new door phone unit?

Next issue, there is 1 single line cordless phone that I programmed on jack 6 (ext 106). Calls can be made from the cordless phone to the other phones and can also call out by dialing 9. The problem is when the other phones (new 7735's) call the cordless phone, it does not ring the phone, the caller gets 1 ring then a busy signal. Is it possible that the secondary wiring going to the jack where the SLT is plugged in is causing the cordless phone not to ring? The jacks in the house were all wired for multi-line phones. My thoughts are to put an adapter on the plug at the KSU and use a 2 wire mounting cord to connect to the SLT jack (6).

Any thoughts?
Thank you in advance.

I would try a new doorphone. Try flipping the polarity on the doorphone as well. Unplug the cordless, call 106 to see if your extension rings without the cordless plugged in. Insure you have a dedicated pair to ext 106, not cross-connected to anywhere else. Make sure that you are using a 2 conductor line-cord or disconnect the data pair for ext 106.
