Well it is time to replace my cordless panasonic phone at home. DECT 6.0 appears to be the latest and greatest thing. Anyone using a DECT 6.0 phone yet?

No, but what I hear is it has mostly to do with better range. won't have to worry about that here because my panasonic kx a143 is enough to cover my house and garden.

DECT phones are still very new to this country, but they have been around for quite a while in the U.K.

Digital European Cordless Technology - DECT

Although now the European has been changed to Enhanced I think.

Maybe Digital Enhanced Cordless Technology.

Anyway i think there's a bit of confusion on the use of DECT. It was my understanding that it was a true 1.9ghz transmission; both ways. However i just looked at a new nortel handset they are calling DECT and the band is 2.4, what gives?

Anyhow i did a field test a few months ago with a dect 1.9 unit and few other manufactures and varying bands. Placed them in the same environment and the dect unit was the better of them all for range and clarity.

We currently only sell dect third party units to our customer if they are requesting us to provide a cordless phone (ugh). For the time being my votes with the Dect 1.9.

Hope this helped maynard and see you in vegas 12/15/07
