i have a computer setup to answer certain lines and give out info for my business. 3 lines run through my dk16 and have 3 ports on the switch. the problem is that when callers hang up, the system does not disconnect the port and the computer keeps playing. ive found the "AR detect" in program 15 and activated it, and this works to disconnect the line, but the port stays busy and this is worse than the line staying busy as well, because the line rings, because the port isnt answering, before it remained active. what can i do to make the station hangup when the line drops out?

have you checked your software for the audiotext program? usually there will be some type of integration procedure for the switch you are using. however it may have only been developed for direct connection to co lines. not to a phone switch(dk-16).
what software product are you using? anybody else run into a similar situation?

some more info: we expanded the system after it was installed, adding 4 more lines but connected them directly to the answering system not through my KSU as before. the computer shows that these lines disconnect and reset for another call when you hangup (theres an onscreen display of each line status for the answerer) so i think that the computer know what to do when the line hangs up. i put delayed ringing on the lines that are auto answered by the KSU, so if the answering system doesnt answer, the line rings and we can go check the answering sysytem computer. i kindof like to have the first 3 (original) lines routed through the KSU to keep an eye on the system status because other than the display of whether the line is playing or not is all you get out of the computer. this way i can tell that its doing what it should be. there is little to no setup done with the mouse and keyboard, intstead, you dial into the system and enter a password to have administrative access. so unless people know how to tweak dialogic cards (which i could handle with guidance, but havent tried) im almost sure the changes i have to make to get this to work are made to my toshiba switch. i could just repunch the lines into the station jacks and bypass the switch, but as i said, its easier to know that the computer needs attention when the phone shows what its doing. something else to know is that the comany that provided the answering system to us has disappeared from the face of the earth. but i dont really think that the computer is the problem.
