Does anybody know if toshiba has a cordless system phone ?. I have been looking around and haven't had any luck.

Yes but your 280 must be 3.0 or higher. It's a DKT-2400 digital 900MHz cordless set. Don't know if they make any other ones.

just to let u know.....that that toshiba cordless phone has many problems such as if the handset craps out it locks up the whole system....

I had 1 bad handset and it locked up a dk40i...

how about putting a cordless 2.4 gig. analog phone on the system and giving it a ext #

the most cost-effective solution is a sngl line. it is somewhat awkward for some users
used to the functionality of a dkt. it's not so good for a main answering position but works quite well if it is receiving outside or transfered calls. a cordless with as many "one touch" speed dials seems to work the best(you can program them for call function dial strings). the toshiba crdless has four function buttons. i program them to immitate a the first 4 buttons on a dkt( they are pricey).i,ve installed 3or4 with no problems like grndsrt had. i,d try the lower cost option first.

all my customer is a cordless phone that they can use in the shop. they want to be able to get transfered calls and to make outside calls.

You will need an analog extension card, a dtmf receiver and a usable spare slot in the dk cabinet if you want to use an off-the-shelf cordless phone.

customer already has 2 pstu 8 port cards and the dtmf receiver. has anyone had any problems doing this.

just a suggestion....if you are not gonna use the 2nd pstu card you might consider removing it as it tends to draw a little more power from the power supply.
