I'm still fairly new to toshiba systems and need a little help. I have a dk424 w/Stratagy VM. The VM auto answer works properly and transfers all my calls to the correct user mailboxes etc. But I need to know how to transfer a call taken by an employee directly to an extension and have that persons VM pickup after a few rings. Right now, using just a cnf/trn and the extension, the system just rings the extension continually VM never picks up. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

Sounds like you have to set up Call Forward Busy/No Answer for those extensions and direct them to the voicemail hunt group DN. The CFBNA info should be in your telephone user guides.

Toner is right.......goto each station and CF to voice mail. Check your user guide, or e-mail me if you don't have one.
Also, for the Fwd call to work properly you have to "ID" the phone.....
Go to each phone and key in the following codes....
Int. #62691 [XXX] redial spkr. Int. #62792 [XXX] redial spkr. where [XXX] represents the extension number.
Now when you press the flashing msg light, you will hear "Plese enter your security code".
Good Luck

If I setup the call forward to the VM hunt group won't that make the caller hit the system greeting etc. instead of the individual users mailbox?

No, the KSU will send the proper information (via DTMF or SMDI) to the Vmail along with the transferred call so that it will get the correct mailbox.
Voyager: Are you saying that with those codes, the MSG key will always get your mailbox - whether the button is lit or not? That's news to me...

nevermind I just read in the manual that the forward will work the way i want but i have to do the id like you suggested, thats a strange way to handle it, but then again nothing with this toshiba has been user-friendly or simple. Thanks for the info, one more question, when I #604 a phone it asks to call forward to _______ is that where I need to put my vm hunt group? Oh yeah and to ID my phones I had to use #656 then 91, is this just specific to the 424?
Thanks

Toner - No, I said the "flashing" msg light. (if activated by vm)
Weapon - Yes, that is where the vm pilot number goes. #604 [vm] spdl [no. of seconds to ring]
Make sure you do the #65691 and the #65792. These codes pertain to all DK's prior to the CTX.

Ok I set everything up like you guys said, I set the cfbna to my vm hunt group (which i setup in prg40?) and I get the cfbna indicator on my lcd. Then I did the id on the phone using the #656 and #657, but when I transfer a call to that extension it rings the correct number of times but then it hits the system greeting instead of the user mailbox. What did I do wrong? As a side note when I internal intercom the extension vm picks up as well, is it possible for the system to differentiate between an ic call and a transferred co call? Oh, one last thing, do they make a toshiba phones for dummies book? Their user guides are straight forward, but the programming manuals are absolute crap to navigate through. Thanks

It still sounds like the phone needs to be id'd. Go thru it again slowly....
Int. #65691 XXX redial Int. #65792 XXX redial
That should work......
Don't be offended, but make sure there are mailboxes set up for these extensions, and make sure they are set to store messages. Always look for the obvious first!
email me if you want to chat...........
