Hi, my company has a toshiba DK424 telephone system connected to a repartee voicemail system. The phones are a DKT2010-SD model. The problem that I am having is that when forwarding messages, names that have been deleted from the system is still listed as being available to be forwarded to. Is there anyway to completely get rid of names from the forwarding message system?
thanks

Change the names within each mailbox.

Thanks, but how do I do that? The only times the names show up is when you try to forward messages store on your phone. They are not in the phone directory and their extensions and names are being use by someone else.

I think maybe your reffering to the user's recorded name. Try logging into a mailbox and go into mailbox options and record the new name.

When you say access the mailbox do you mean going to the person's extension and changing their options. I sign into the person's old extension and listen to the recorded name but the recorded name has the new person's name on it so I don't know why the old person's name is still coming up. Any further advice you can give me on this will be greatly appreciated.

When you say forwarding the message, do you mean that you are forwarding a message to one particular mailbox? If so, on the Repartee it asks you to either spell the name of the target user or press ## to enter the mailbox number. Is it at this point that you enter the name or mailbox number and the Repartee says back the user's name?

Actually, its when I use the toshiba to forward the message that I am experiencing the problem. There will be a message that I want to forward to someone else but when I enter the last three letters of the person's last name, names that I deleted from repartee will still be announced. The person being announced has always have problems with getting calls to go through voicemail when she is not there. could that be why her name is still there, somehow the system did not delete her properly?

That must mean there are mailboxes or groups that share the same digits in the name. Can you log into the Repartee via the keyboard and monitor and look through the Personal directory and delete unused mailboxes. Do the same for the Group directory.

Hi, I try your advice:
That must mean there are mailboxes or groups that share the same digits in the name. Can you log into the Repartee via the keyboard and monitor and look through the Personal directory and delete unused mailboxes. Do the same for the Group directory.
I look through both the personal directory and the group directory and the name is not listed anyway. If I can't remove her name is there any way to put another name in front of her? My boss just find it very annoying that everytime he wants to transfer a message, he has to go through the old name twice before getting to the correct one. Is there anything else I can do to remove old names from the system?
Thanks!

The name listed in the Name field may not look like a name, but it has the same digits as the name. For example, the name Sam might look like P26. Look at a telephone keypad and you will see that P26 corresponds to Sam. If you still can't figure it out, you can email me.
