Have not worked Toshiba before, Is it simple plug and copy from existing lines and ext. or more? I checked links on this site for Manual, but do want to buy before i get feedback. Thanks in advance---John

You will need to do some programming to tell the system board and stations are there.
Book would be great help and theres plenty of help on this forum to get you done.

Thanks KENB, will order manual and read on vacation, sure to put me asleep on beach. For some reason orginal vender very slow to respond here, and have had many calls for work on Toshiba but turn all away before this. Spent this morning looking at 368 pages of features, very impressive. Does manual for dk40i cover basic programing for more then just dk40i?-------John

The manual should cover 16e,40,40i,424 and 424i. Of corse some of the programs for 40i and 424i will not be used in the 16e.

Program 03 tells the system what cards you have inserted. You must have the DK40 expansion cabinet, older DK16 expansions will not work.
In program 39 look at your buttons on the first eight phones and type them in on the next two. Easier to use a PDKU and an RCOU/RCOS than the 2x4 cards, only one amphenol for 8 stations.
The DK40i is manufacture discontinued but a much easier system to program than the CIX new stuff.

SS, the 16 programs slightly different (2 digit ports), it should be 14, 40, 40i, 424, 424i. I believe the manual for the 16 also includes the 8.
A 16e expansion will work, a 16 expansion will not.
We use the express cables for KCDU's, 8 stations & 4 CO's on one 25 pair. If you don't need any more CO lines, a PDKU would be easier.
The manual is a good thing to have, just make sure you also have a 20 button display phone to program with.
