Maybe there is a number that they dial that starts with 226, and they are trying to dial with the phone on intercom. Does the phone go to intercom when going off-hook?

There is a way in programing to change off-hook prefereance. I was able to disable Msg light (except for voicemail), but I think it disables recieving MSG light. Not sure if you can disable sending a message.

Yes, the Intercom is the first selected when the phone goes off hook. I just think it's strange...we don't have a 226 on our system, and we don't have an area code 226 in our area. All area codes outside of local are blocked on our system, so I doubt it's someone trying to dial a 226 number...

You can turn off MW receiving on all your phones in system program number 35 LED 4. It won't affect the MW from voicemail.

There may not be dialing an area codes with 226, but it would be more then likely would be a local number that starts with 226 (since a long distance # usually starts with a 1).

It looks like the prefex 226 in Atlanta area belongs to a cellular phone company.

That could totally be what's happening....but, in Atlanta you have to dial all 10 digits when placing a local call, and the three area codes for the metro Atlanta area are 404, 678, and 770.

The code that I dialed from each of the two phones to take the SENT 226 off of the display didn't work this time, so now I'm at a loss to remove the message. Oh well...
