GRR!! I've been searching the postings, the web, my program books etc. We have here at the office a DKT2000 Strata phone system. All I want to do is change the amount of time on the hold recall. I finally found out it's program 34, however, that doesn't get me anywhere near being able to change it. Any help out there????

The above is the normal reply for end users trying to program the DK systems, it's not a easy rascal to program. Depending on what DK you have you will need a 20 button display phone to program with and if it is a DK280/424/424i you will also need to find port 005 to program from. By program books maybe that is a manual maybe not, but a programming manual will help once you get use to the programming.

SSphone... thank you... Actually, I have tackled this darn rascal before, and am slightly familiar with programming, once I can get in there. We do have the 20 button dispaly phone (which is my admin phone) and I have programmed a few things in the past. I'm hoping to NOT have to call the tech support. I have a programming book, but it doesn't go over the hold recall. Perhaps I don't have the correct manual??? Hummm..... Grr!! smile

Well you have the right program number. Just enter the port number you want to change and then enter the seconds you want the hold recall to be. 000 is no recall or 011 to 160 seconds.

Yay! Worked great! Problem solved.

Know anything about automatic answer? Program 32??? I enter the port number (in this case 013) and data is 111, I believe. Yet I'm not getting the autoanswer to work on that phone? Just curious. Thanks!!

Program 32 isn't for auto answer it is for aut preference when you pick up the handset or press the SPKR button to go off-hook. This also sets the phone port allow someoen to just pick up a ringin line without having to press the button. If the data is 111 that means this:

1 = ringing preference is allowed
11 = will pick up an avaiable line from line group 01, which is programmed via program 16.

When you say auto answer, what exactly are you trying to accomplish??

That's exactly what we're looking to do. Be able to pick up the line without having to press the line button. Perhaps "auto answer" isn't the right term. We want port 013 to be able to pick up a ringing line without having to hit the line 1, 2 , 3, or 4 button. The data is set to 111, so he should be able to pick up the line, right? Perhaps this one I'll have to call on, because now I'm confused. smile

You're all set. Auto answer, as you are looking at it means that if that phone is programmed to audibly ring, then you can answer without hitting a line key. That key will be green. If its red, then the phones not ringing and you have to press the button.
