I am supposed to know all there is to know about these systems, but when they are this old, and you don't deal with them on a daily basis, I guess the memory gets a little faulty. Here's the scenario: I need to get into the voice mail with my laptop. I am using the Stratagy Admin cable, with an appropriate USB to Serial adapter (which, by the way, works flawlessly with other Toshiba Voice Mails), and no matter which version of Stratagy Admin I use, it first tries to initialize the modem. Of course, that's not what I want. I tried several times this afternoon, to no avail. There was a modem mounted on the voice mail, and I figured out the extension of the modem, called it, but it would not answer. Lights flashed on the front, but no answer. Could someone tell me how the heck to get into this voice mail, if there is a way?

Is the voice mail working, is it answering callers?
You say its a 4lite is there a floppy drive(A:)?
are you using the 2 headed Octopus cable? I believe on the 4 lite your gonna use the Db25 I/O connector on the back of the PC.

Yes, the voice mail is working, there is no floppy drive. All I need to do is change the names of the people, but this early level of software won't allow it. I am using the two-headed cable, but wasn't aware that it needed to be in the DB25 port. It's not even labeled as a serial port. I will try it again tomorrow, though, and let you know what happened. Up for a phone call?

You are going to need an older version of admin, like admin2G to access this. After that it's a lot like a flash or IVP8.
