We have a Siemens HiPath 3550 phone system here with the basic music playing for the hold music. The company that fits and supports our system want £500 to fit a music card, but I can get an internal hold music card for £95, does anyone know if I will need to use the support company to make the system use teh card or is it a 'Plug n play' card? - and does anyoen know how music is loaded? if it does need the support company, is the extenal music card the better option?

you can actually hook it up several ways on the 3550. either through an analog port,CO port or the EXM board. The EXM board is easy it just has a ribbon cable that slide on to the main board and there are 2 screw terminals that you would take the external music device be it a CD player, MP3 player or a whatever. I would suggest having your support company install the card for you though. you don't want to cause yourself more issues by trying to do it yourself it will only save you in the long run if something would happen.
