Greetings, forum.

1st time poster here, driven to "OMG HELP" 1st post due to lack of response from my telephone company, Broadview.

My problem is setting up Caller ID Name on our Vertical Televantage 7.5 system. We have Broadview T1 PRI service. After a lot of bickering with them, they added Caller ID Name service on our account, but names still don't show up. After talking to our Televantage support and reading through every documentation piece I could get my hands on, it came down to me needing these values from Broadview.

1) Information Element (hexadecimal) that contains caller's name
2) Offset within information element block
3) Length of caller name field

Now for 4 days in a row, I keep getting same "we will call you back" from Broadview and when I called today, I had to give them those 3 questions again. Not having a lot of faith in Broadview after this, I came to this board, in hopes of getting an answer from some knowledgeable kind soul.

So, if anyone knows this information, please, let me know, so I can finally see that "John Doe" is calling me, not just the number

Just keep screaming. Not sure of a whole lot you can do other then switching providers. You might try contacting the utilities commission or whoever has power in your neck of the woods to see if you can get someone else to scream at them too.

I must admit, it's pretty rare that you have to request much of anything other then Digital Station Deliver aka Dynamic Outbound CID on a PRI. If I were you I'd explore my options for proving breach of contract and get quotes from other providers.
