This is the first Vodavi that I have seen, let alone try to get it to work. I have two phone, a 1418 Exec dispaly that is working fine. I have only tried the first four ports on the base cabinet. I also have a 1414 that does not work on any of the first four ports. It is either dead or sometimes keys flashing all over the place. In testing I used the same base chord on both the working 1418 and the non working 1414. What have I missed?

circuitsbusy, thanks, I forgot to say that I do have two 1414s and both do the same thing. It is possible they are both bad.

OK, I have some more information. The 1418 phone that works shows Ver1.1A in the display, then comes up. The 1414 phones that do not work show Ver1.2A and stop there.

Steve, I'm not familiar with this particular model (I work with the XTS, STS, & Triad Series), but you may find that you need to program the port for the particular model of phone you're using. Example: When I install an XTS, all ports are defaulted to 24-Button phones; if I'm using 8-Button, I have to set the ports to realize that. Do you have the programming documentation?

I thought you were on to something there. I have the programming documentation but see nothing about station type. My other problem is that it says to program from the phones that don't work!
Thanks SteveD

The 1414 is an executive display digital phone that should be able to be plugged into any digital station port and work--I generally use this as the programming phone--because of the LCD display...and the correct number of buttons. The 1418 is a special digital phone that, I believe, has a serial port on the back of it for CTI. I have never even seen one of these, so I can't say much about how they work. Get one phone to work---then proceed to other ports-----once you know the ports work--then try other phones. If they don't come up---then there must be someting wrong with that particular phone---because you've already checked out the station port. Good luck.
