For some reason Dispatch Auto Attendant messed everything up on our phone system, using a Vodavi Starplus DHS. Now, I can't dial out and neither can my boss. We get the message "call restricted". However the forced account code is not on in the database.
Can someone help me shut this off? Better yet, we would like to just start over from the beginning. Is there a way we can do this and just restore it to the default data? Any ideas are greatly appreciated in advance.
Thanks, Errika

You need to check the restrcition filters in system programming. You should also check your Station Class of Service (COS). Typically, COS 0 has no restrictions.
I don't believe anyone on this board will tell you how to default the system. Too much room for mischief.

Ruby G:
1. Where is you service guy who installed the system?? Can you give him a call??
2. Do you do your own programming--do you have a programming manual?
3. What happened to make THIS happen. How did the Dispatch do this?? I am not quite understanding. Can you trace back a bit?
4. When was the last time everything was working normal---and THEN what happened? Was anyone in a programming mode of some sort??
5. Have you tried a reset?? Are the voice mail ports locked up?? A reset is just like re-booting a computer that is locked up.
6. Is everthing else working as normal? Can you get into VM? Can you intercom people?
It seems I have more questions than answers. When A6 get here---he might have some answers.

I also don't understand how you are getting this message. Are you getting a voice message saying call restricted? If you are, it's a phone company issue.
Are you getting 'call restricted' showing up on the displayof the phone?
If it's on the phone, when does it give you the 'call restricted'? After you dial 7 or 11 digits?
Usually the phone just drops out to a busy if there is a call restriction.
We all need a little more info to help.

I did a little further research on 'Call Restricted' on the display and it can occur 2 different ways.
The first you are aware of and thats forced account codes. If this is set on the system, you have to dial an acct code in order for the call to complete. The code must be entered before you get a second dial tone to dial out.
The second way is class of service(COS). If the class of service is set to anything higher than 0, it will do a call qualification before letting the call go through. There are 2 COS settings for stations, one for day and one for night.
