Has anyone installed the HD version of the "In-Skin" voice mail on an STS?
If so, how is it performing? Any issues to be aware of?

Thanks
Timbo

This is the same VM system that was used on the Executone IDS systems back in the day. In my opinion it is a stable system as well as feature rich.

I have one installed in a Remax office. So far, no problems to report. Lot of features, and easy to administer. My only complaint is the MODU modem card in the STS can't be used for the voicemail as with the flash based in-skin. A baud rate issue appearently. I got around that by installing an external modem on one of the built-in SLT ports. My customer is very happy, not bad for a bunch of real estate agents! Thanks for the replies guys...!

dw...I know what you mean about real estate agents. I have have more problems trying do phone user training for those people over the years than any other business. I always tell my techs that Real Estate people are "dumb as stumps" (hope I didn't offend any agents that might be reading this) [Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]

Being around the typical RE agent even part-time, I am sure you know the type we're talking about ("If I unplug my phone, will I loose all my voicemail messages?").

real estate people know real estate.

lawyers know law.

dentists fix teeth.

secretary's wear scimpy dresses.

phone techs's know phones.(that's debateable)

KINDOF GET WHAT I MEAN.......

But wait a second, isnt this a VODAVI FORUM??? How about back to the original question about the hard drive version of the vm for STS, cause alot of people are interested in it.

OK...enough with people's profession bashing.....BACK TO TECH-TALK...Thank you...

The HD In-skin hardware is rather interesting as it has an ethernet jack (future use) and two USB ports for keyboard/mouse. Connect a monitor to the VGA output and you'll see the OS is XP 'Embedded'. The admin software is quite straight-forward and very easy configure and you can admin locally (serial port), via modem, or offline (very cool). If you familiar with the Pathfinder and/or Dispatch, the HD is a snap. The only thing I don't like is every time you change something and click 'save' it has to upload the changes to the system. That makes remote administration a bit slow.

thank you for all the info...we'll be installing our fist HD in-skin in a week or so. I am looking forward to learning more about it.

BTW did you hear the one about the real estate agent that......oops....better watch what I post! Wouldn't want to tick-off "loopystart"
