I was at a site with a strange problem. No matter what phone was the originator of a ic call. If the receiving phone was in hf mode, there would be clicking on the receiving phone. I call it motorboating, put put put.... Set the phones to tone. Thought I would see if anyone else had this issue. Customer didn't want to pay to change out the ksu to try to fix the problem. The systemn has been in for a year and everything was ok, until the service call. I tried different phones, but those phones, when they receive an ic call hf, will motorboat on the speaker.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

It's not a KSU problem. It's a defect with the phones (I am assuming they are IN-9015 models). You might try taking them apart, blowing out the transmitter element in the right-front corner of the set with canned air, then reseating it in the rubber mounting. They collect dust and also bounce loose from their mounting. This problem has been corrected, but since that phone model has been discontinued for years, the factory isn't going to do anything about this without a repair charge.
