Hi everyone,
This is an awesome forum you have setup here. Can someone please help me get into programming through Hyperterminal. I have a Vodavi STS system. I am using a computer that has Windows XP on it, the computers COM1 port is connected to the RS232-1 port on the phone system (BKSU).
What do I set the connection settings in Hyperterminal? Is there anything I need to enable on the phone system?
Thanks,
Nick

Why would you want to? If you do it's in section E of the manual. These systems are pretty easily programmed via the admin phone. I've never tried it with Hyperterminal, except for inital set up of the VM. I'm no Vodavi guru I'm sure one will be along.

Nick:
What Bill said and then some. There's no reason to use a laptop for 99.5% of the programming. Save yourself some time and use the programming function of the attendant's station. If you are lucky, the original installer enabled this capability from any station but if not, X100 will always allow programming access.
If you really want to go about this the hard way, the answer to your question is 9600, N, 8 and 1. Just keep in mind, this system does not offer a menu-driven or GUI interface if that's what you are seeking. You will simply be replicating the very same keystrokes via laptop that you would be doing using a phone.

Nick Its much much easier to program from a keyset versus a laptop. If your programming voicemail card, then yes, you need a laptop for programming. And that's the way it is........
