Hi-
When it is time for the system voicemail, or a station's voicemail to kick in, it is just dead air. No commands work and I have tried re-booting the system. Transfer and forwarding features work. Any ideas?

Sounds like the vmail is down/dead, there could be many reasons. Transfer and forwarding are a feature of the telephone system, not the voice mail, so it sounds like the system is OK. I would call your service company on this one. Re-booting is the first step, but if that was not successful you should get a service call to help you out.

Light "HB" is blinking on the V-Mail card. My service company is slow...so I was just hoping someone here would know.

Is this a Flash VM or HDD?
If this is a Flash i would try to connect to it with a PC and see if you can get in. If you can i would initialize it and see if you get any where with that.
If this a HDD unit i would connect a monitor to it and see what is on the screen.
Let us know.

Let us know. It is flash. I powered off, re-set the card and now any voicemail button rings and rings with no pick-up by the machine.

he is a user, not a tech - most users are not taught/do not know how to initialize the vmail:.

Hooked up computer..set hyperterminal...nothing came from tha card to the terminal. Light HB flashing, busy off unless attempt to connect to voicemail system. Light three solid on. System rings once..dead air 10 secs...fast busy.
