We have a just installed a new STS-E system to replace our older STS system that recently fried. Everything works fine except for the auto attendant/voice mail communication. A call will go to the extension, however the voice mail does not pick up at all. :bang: Any suggestions? THANKS for the help!

Have you set your preset call forward for the CO lines and stations to tell them to go to VM?

In mailbox options of main menu of the mailbox set direct transfer to mailbox.

Justbill - I'm not sure, I thought I did that through flash programming; how exactly would I do that?

STS E - wouldn't that bypass going to the extension first?

Both of you - please forgive my seemingly silly questions. I'm not a programmer, just an administrator trying to get our phones to work again. :-}

It is done via progamming one is for what you want the CO lines to do on an incoming call and another for what you want the stations to do.

Direct transfer you send calls directly to the mail box. This is in the user guide. The preset call forward is in the programming manual.

Which calls? CO or stations there are two. I assume you are using the inskin flash VM card in the STSe. What group are you forwarding to?

Kristi--Welcome to the board.

1. Where did you get the system that was just installed? If it was used---did you default the system---or does it still have "residual" programming in it.

2. We're taking it that you have a Programming Manual and are familiar with the programming procedures. Correct??

3. Have you checked the number of rings that the phones are set for preset to VM?

4. Have you tried a system reset after you did your programming. Sometimes that helps.
