Just a quick survey of the techs out in the cloud. I have had 4 ckib's go bad in the last 2 months with the problems starting with receive and transmit problems. Is anyone else having problems with ckib's going bad?

This board seems to be sensitive to high loop current. I've had a couple go bad for this reason.

I had the CO adjust the loop current settings at the CO since in both cases the CO was within a couple of blocks from the customer's site.

Ditto on the high loop current. We had 2 go out at the same site. They were renting space in a building and the co had a switch in the building with fiber back to main co.

We ended up buying loop current regulators when we replaced the ckib and its been good for over 4 years.

Supposedly Vodavi said they were modifying boards to accommodate the higher voltage a couple years ago but don't know if that ever transpired.

Haven't had this happen to us yet but very good info to know. However, if TelCo says loop current is within specs and I think it is high (primarily due to an echo), I just add two resisters. Its been awhile, but I think about 56-100 ohm or so works - one on tip & one on ring. It drops it right down with no noticible ill effects. However, I'd be interested in any CO tech comment on this method.
