Thank you in advance for your time in responding!

I have a new 24 button phone with extension. I need to map the buttons to match what others have in the company. I can program flex buttons 1-12 to do what I need using: spd spd BB XXX on/off.

However it seems as though most of buttons 13-24 are trickier. I have the programming table that states to assign a button as user programmable enter: BB [0] HOLD This is coming from Table D-13 in the Programmers manual. I must be missing a step. When I assign a button, it gives a fast busy tone and no changes were made. Can anyone help me with what I am doing wrong? Again, thank you for your time!

flex button-flash 50 programmin in admin, but there is an easier way.

Enable co/pool/loop key user programming in admin-flash 50 button 17.

A user cannot program over co lines using 'spd' 'spd' button programming. You need to get into system programming to change these keys. Users can program over station or speed dial keys.

By default, the first 12 keys are dss keys, the next 6 are co line appearances followed by loop, pool,queue and various function buttons.

As Derrick mentioned, you can open up programming btns on a station by station basis but it is not recommended. You will need to go to FL50/FL51 programming to change key functionality. Be careful if you don't know how to program these keys. You can do more harm than good here.

Derrick, I have the instructions on the database programming manual to perform the flash 50 and have some questions regarding this.

If it must be done from the console phone, what steps must I take before performing the flex button flash 50?
a. Sign on admin (No passwords are permitted)
b. ???

will it prompt what phone/extension I wish to program?

Again, thank you so much for your time!

Would the correct steps be?

Flexible Button Assignment Page 2-149
Flash 50 and Button 24 is lit
Enter station range and HOLD or Hold for all stations
Button 19 is now lit
Press button 20 for Page B
Press Button 11 (BUTTON ASSIGN)
Enter a valid button number (00-24)
Enter:
0=Flexible Button
1=CO Line Button (001-024)
2=Loop Button
3=Pool Button (Group 1-8)
4=Direct Feature Button + Feature Code
4=DSS/BLF Button + Ext #

"I have the programming table that states to assign a button as user programmable enter: BB [0] HOLD"

I assume that you are dialing the two-digit button number (01-24, AKA "BB") and not just pressing that button, correct?

For example: To put a DSS/BLF button for X123 on a phone's 16th button, the procedure through flash programming would be 16 + 4 + 123 plus hold.

To make it blank (user-programmable), your entry would be dialing 16 + 0.

Not sure how to close a post out or mark one as completed but please consider this one closed!

Thank you so much for your time and help. I was able to reassign the role of the CO line buttons and get all of the buttons assigned. I did this through help with posts above through flash 51. This was able to complete everything I needed by assigning the roles of the button and then doing the speed speed options to make the individual changes.

Thank you again for your help!

Does anything need to be done to commit changes done through flash 50 programming? I've been pressing the on/off when i'm done, but nothing happens to the station. I also gave the station admin rights, as it's on another floor, and when I go in to programming it shows that it's enabled, yet this also is not the case when I'm at the actually phone.

Does the systm need to be reset or does it take time to update the station?

Thank you,
Shane.

You'll have better luck opening a new topic for your problem and give us the system you have. Locking this one.
