A new customer calls us last week. They're moving and their original installer is out of business.
Moving day was today, so I go there this afternoon to get the equipment. The system password is not the default and the customer doesn't know it. Great. I have to add an LCOB, so now I have to reinitialize and reprogram from default.
After having moved the system, now the KSU won't power up, the power supply probably was about to go, but the customer blames me. Then a 2 hour round-trip to our shop to get our spare XTSc.
I get everything going and am about to walk out the door at 5pm when they tell me, "Oh, we don't use the auto-attendant at night, we just press the 'night' buttton and calls ring to the answering service".
I figure just program a virtual extension that's preset forwarded to a speed dial bin and point the trunks to the virtual extension at night.
However it doesn't work. The trunks just ring the virtual forever and never follow the extensions preset forwarding. If I answer the trunk and then transfer to the virtual it then works.
Any reason an unanswered trunk won't follow an extensions off-site forwarding?

Because you have the trunk ringing on more than one extension? However you can program the lines to ring directly to a speed dial number instead of an extension....no need for the virtual extension.

Right. Station forwarding really applies to transferred calls.

The trunk only rings the virtual extension when in Night mode. I fully expected it to follow the off-net forwarding, but never forwards.
I didn't realize (or forgot) that I could make a system speedial bin a ringing destination in flash 40. I'll give that a try, thanks!
