To default my book says,
Step 1. Set the MEM. CLEAR 2 switch to the on position.
Step 2. Press the reset button. The KSU LED will begin to flash after a few seconds.
Step 3. Set the MEM. CLEAR 2 switch to the off position.
Step 4. Press the reset button.
I dont know about the LED.

The light should be flashing [heart beat]
To Default the system 1032 talk to:
- Set the battery switch to on
- set program switches 1&2 to on [switch 3 not used]
- Press the Reset button.
- Set Program switches 1 &2 to off
- Press the reset button,the status lamp will begin to flash after a few seconds indicating system operation.
