Well, I was going through the phone closet here at our warehouse and found an alcatel ITT EKS-802 cabinet with a whole bunch of cards in it... Does anybody know if it is worth anything and if I should try parting it out on e-bay. It is the complete cabinet with mainboard, like 5 line cards and power supply, no phones though.

An untested cabinet that old with no phones won't fetch much, unless there happens to be someone looking for that equipment. If I remember right, the EKS-802 takes the same phones as the 801, so if you could get your hands on one of those... Otherwise, I would sell it for $10-$20, no reserve. Just don't be like this one guy on there who kept trying to sell a TIE 308 KSU for $129.

Here's one thing that really slays me on eBay: people selling Nortel equipment as a system, but "they can't test it" or there is no RTU or passwords. Someone in Texas has a QPC742 card and a disk drive, with matching data cartridge and floppies and generic 1011 software, just what I needed... but no passwords. That's not a system, it's a glorified crash kit, as it is of no use as a system.

But back to the original question. You'll have a lot better luck if you can find a phone to hang off it and get it working.

Passwords aren't difficult to bust but missing RTU's are different. You have to have a relationship with a distributor to chase down ownership license transfers.

Oh yeah what Nortel system rev/features do you need...I have at least 12 of those systems in the warehouse.

R-B-Fishing: I'm at the house right now, and I have Weds. off, but I'd like to talk to you about what you have. FYI, what we have to work with is an SL1-ST cabinet. The main things we are looking for are DTI, BARS, CPND, and support for M2616 sets.

I have quite a few ST's that I took in trade. I have 3 or 4 Option 21's that you can upgrade that cabinet too. When you get a chance me with any specs and I'll see what I have to offer. Dave
