However there are certain FCC regulations that you might violate in the process of connecting up Music-on-Hold.
Most common is to plug in a radio. Radio stations are not legal to be put on MoH systems. There are copyright issues involved. They have the right to broadcast the music, but not the rebroadcast rights. When you put music from a radio onto your telephone system you are rebroadcasting the station.
Then next common source is to use digital music, a CD or MP3. This is just as illegal as the radio station for many of the same reasons. But you may be saying, I purchased the CD can’t I use it as I please? When you purchased the CD, you only own a copy of the CD not the rights to the music on it.
The same issues arise in using other services like Satellite Radio.
The best option is to purchase a MoH device that plays Royalty-Free music. You can also purchase one of these devices that come with a service that connect up to one of your telephone lines and can be updated remotely.
When asked by customers regarding connecting up a radio I have responded with:
"Besides being illegal, do you want your customers to possibly hear a commerical from one of your competitors?"
Sorry for the long ramble.

Thank you Professor Shadow and to you tom@tgcomm. I appreciate your held. I hope that I can add support to the site on ESI issues or Siemens products.

How do I open a line on one of my phones that previously did not allow a person to call out. The system is the WIN 440ct. The company that installed it wants $250 to come out and reprogram. Can someone help?

JFC, it would be better if you would start a new thread as it would stand out rather than tagging onto an old thread.
In your area that may not be a bad price....
