ports/exts are done in program 4-10

day ringing is done in 4/01
night ringing is in 4/02

if you had a display phone pressing feature 4 tells you the port/ext. if you have a display phone anywhere borrow it and plug it into the non-display phone

Thanks, Phones now ring...

However...One of these dtu-8-1 phones page button will not work..(moved disp. phone to it's location) The upper right func. button should speed dial local 59 (I think) which should be the all page, but it shows co 4? There is no line 4...in another posting you told someone to remove a line form the trunk # from the dial '9' group....what is lk3?

it got changed somehow by someone in system programming.

go to program 4-12 for that port

press transfer until you get to button 4 (i'm guessing here). display should say co 04

press linekey6 (button 6) display will now show fa type in 10 on the keypad.

transfer to write

speaker to get out of programming

-----------------------------------
now look at my other post to re-program it

Okay, I'm stuck on the same issue as Carter, but he must be smarter then I am. I didn't even understand the answer!

I'm the computer tech for the office, and I ordered the manual from my vendor two weeks ago (no show). All I need to do is get one extension ringing.

Can you tell me what you mean by 4-10, 4/01, and 4/02?

Beyond that, what does it take to actually configure one of these? Can you do it from a phone, or do I need a laptop with an adapter? If I spring for the $200 tech manual, am I gonna need another $500 in parts to use it?

I've been beating my head against this for a couple weeks now, and I sure could use some help. Thanks in advance.

Mike

everything is done by ports. you need to know what port the phone you want to ring is. if it has a display, press feature 4. if not plug one in temp & do the feature 4. the display will show the ext then the port.

1>get into programming
2>press line 4 (4th clear button)
3>you're in day ringing (4-01)
4>conference to get to the port you found above
5>press the line buttons you need to ring. green is right away, red is delay, off is no ring
6>after lighting the lights, press transfer to write
7>speaker to get out of programming or go to 8 if another
8>press 01 on keypad
9>go to step 4

programming can be done from any digital phone but should be done from ports 1 & 2
(usually ext 100 & 101)

you'll need a mifm card to do pc programming. not cheap. then you'll need the sat software (sweet talk your vendor)

pc programming is not done "live". you'll download what you have, make changes, then re-upload it to the system

Thanks for the prompt reply, Chris. I'm still feelin' a little dumb over here, though - my phones don't seem to have a program button. Do you mean press the feature button?

I don't think I'm guessin' right here, 'cause when I hit Conference for step 4 it pages the number.

Okay, I read through the forums and found your instructions on how to get into the program menu. I think I even got it going (conf to the right port, light 'em up green, then transfer to save and speaker to quit.)

If I go back into 4-01, I can tap Conf and cycle through the ports...only her's lights up.

Also...it still doesn't ring.

Any ideas?

Wound up wiring her phone to a different extension. Everybody's happy, but I still wish I knew how to get 'em to ring.
