We currently have the NEC Dterm cordless phone along with our Electra 120 Professional system. It's an older model and has the four F1-F4 kets towards the bottom. This cordless unit does not ring, you can visibly see the re light flashing when someone is calling in, but the ringer is off for some reason. We have checked the volume settings and the ringer is on but it still does not ring when a call is coming in, just the light flashes.. any suggestions anyone, I have looked everywhere. Thanks for any assistance anyone can give.

Yes we are an end user. We have had this system for years. We moved our office location and had a power surge which caused the phone system to reset all of the settings. We called a phone system specialist company out here to re-program everything and they did. however, it went out again and this company charges up every single time and will not show us how to program it for the simple reason so they can keep charging us. I looked up some paperwork on the Dterm cordless and it says while the cordless is in off mode, we need to hold down the * # keys at the same time, and then press talk. Once I do this, I can access a setup screen. It has L1 - L4 and you can use the volume up key to select different modes. this is all I have gotten so far, any suggestions?

If you are losing programming every time you lose power, the memory battery on the CPU has reached its lifespan. As a suggestion you should contact the company that just re-programmed the system and point out that fact. They may charge you to replace the battery but should not charge you to re-program it again as they should have replaced the battery on the first service call.

The cordless will not ring unless it is programmed to ring in system programming. This is an Installer/dealer function and requires training to do so.

Thanks for the reply. I know basic knowledge in the programming side, and If I just had a small tip on how to access the system programming, I can use the documentation I already have to do it. The problem with the loosing programming I resolved already. We had a battery backup installed next to the phone system before but never put it back. I re-installed the battery backup so that problem is taken care of. If there is a way someone can just guide me to reach the system programming, I can take care of the rest. Any help is much appreciated, Thanks
