A few of our personnel have moved within our building to different locations. How do I go about giving them their previous extension if that is possible?

Thanks people!!

Lee07,
He has Elite IPK(Dterm80).
You can relocate your telephone without moving crossconnect on MDF but you have to have:
First: you need Station Relocation Access Code(no default). has to be asigned.(Function 148)
Second:You need password for Station Lockout.
After you have that from Attendant phone:
F84 to Enable relocation.
On the terminal that you want relocate press
Spk
Dial reloc.code
Dial Ext. number of the distant phone
Enter St. Lockout code for that phone
Press Spk. again.
You are done.

Best choice for someone who is not familiar with the system is to swing the jumpers. To prevent confusion, for people not familiar with cross-connect, I recommend swinging jumpers in pairs. For example:

WAS --> IS
x100 --> 101
101 --> 102
102 --> 103
103 --> 100

Swap jumpers for 100 and 101. Swap jumpers for 102 and 103.
Now 100 and 102 are in the right places. Verify this.
Swap jumpers for 101 and 103. Now all phones are in their right places. verify this.
Done.

If you try to do 3-way or 4-way swaps, otherwise, it's easy for newbies to forget which end of the jumper they're holding (port or station), and rotate the phones backwards, so all of them are still in wrong places. With pairs, it doesn't matter.

More cross connection, but easier to do. Just a suggestion.

If the wiring done right and user familiar with MDF then answer is yes its easier to change crossconnects. But sometimes you can find MDF that even for experienced Installers is a headache.

We ALWAYS recommend changing from the cross-connects to reduce confusion when the next guy (YOU being the next guy in many cases) comes in to service a system. Imagine the headaches that could be avoided if everyone did it this way!
