Unlike the competition (Panasonic KXTA824), the NEC DSX 40 does not have three automatic time settings (Day, Night, Lunch). I am finding more and more customers who want a different VM, ringing, whatever, done AUTOMATICALLY via timer. Set it and forget it.

The DSX requires a "Night" button and a manual set.

NEC ----- Any chance of an automatic time setting/ manual option happening?

Ken,

The only part that is not automatic is sending all calls to AA immediatley. The answer table can give you any multiple greetings at different times periods during the day and with overflow to voice mail activated for day term makes it close to being automatic.

Dans has it right on. Set your default Mbox to the Night greeting, then schedule Day Greeting, Lunch Greeting, whatever your heart desires by day, week, hour, etc. to its assigned Call Routing box.

You could jump up to the Aspire series it has 8 different modes and automatic scheduling.

Thank you for the replies.......and the change of the AA (number of rings) from Day to Night Modes is the biggie I just ran into again yesterday.

T&R --- I'd love to do the Aspire.....except NEC says I don't sell enough product to be a dealer. So I use the DSX....without the KSU controlling the time schedule.

Ken,

We're currently discussing this feature and looking for input from our dealers that have used auto time settings in previous applications. What are the customer's requirements? Are their any verticals with special needs? What are the strengths and weaknesses of this feature in other systems? How would you like it to work?

Like everything we have done so far with DSX, we would like to go beyond the simple day/night/lunch answer schedule to give you the capability to meet your customer's demanding requirements, but still be simple to understand and install.

Please visit the NEC DSX Feature Ehancements Forum with any comments or suggestions you may have. We're always listening.

Thanks.

Thanks, DD.

In this size of a system the Panasonic KSU time scheduling is the most common. It will allow up to any minute within the 24 hour clock of each week of the day.....but the weekend overlap can be confusing.

My suggestion would be similar to the time schedule in the IntraMail.

It would be a great feature to have for the system to automatically go into night mode. It does not need to be as elaborate as the IPK II or Aspire.

Panny way is great. Button has 4 four modes.
Press for Nite, sys rings in nite mode and AA plays nite message, put in lunch mode, sys rings lunch mode and plays lunch messge, same for break.
That Manual control. Or you use use auto schedule to have switch control via a time table, including Holidays. An after hours greeting the subscriber box would be nice to. Plays any time the system is in nite or A holiday sched.

We have been listening to your comments (and a few end users) and we think we have come up with a great way to implement this feature. We also have a few innovations that you haven't seen on any other system. Your customers will really appreciate the control they will have over their business schedule. Can't say much more. Stay tuned.

Thanks,
DSX Development Team
