We are installing a PRI T1 on a DSX 80, we need to tell the provider the specs to provision the T1. Would you reccomend N1 or N2?
Also, do we need a CSU, and if so which brand and model do you reccomend.
Thanks Walter

Adtran (CSU- ACE) and Kentrox are both decent CSU's.
As far as the D-channel protocol, we usually use NI2, unless the carrier doesn't support it. Then we use 5ess.

Our last T1 install did not need a CSU. Correct me if I'm wrong; but doesn't the T1\PRI card take care of required needs.

!!! Glad to have another Kansan on the BB. Please enjoy the board. Don't forget to go to the Phone Booth forum and let us know about you in the "New Member" thread. Hijack done, back to your normally scheduled discussion.

We installed a DSX 160 on a PRI and a call to tech support told us that there was one standard and one only...NI2 (we had a devil of a time getting the communications protocol from AT&T, and guess what....it wasn't NI2! And, it did not work!
Grrrr
Well, we were able to get it changed...
