I have a customer with an IPK. For the past couple of weeks when they get there in the morning the display says "initializing". If they unplug the phone and plug it back in it's fine. I'm on my way there now to see if all ext's are on the same card. Any other idea's?

I have an issue like this once and it turned out that the customer had an old ETW Style cordless that they never used but was still hooked up with their deskphone. Whenever they lost power that cordless base station would default back to cordless instead of desk and when the KSU reinstallized the ESI card it would stop when it hit that cordless phone and would not initialize anything else on that card.
I swapped esi's and eventually the KSU until I discovered that cordless back behind their desk.

1st, I would disable the system refresh timer. Then I would try to get them to upgrade to the latest CPU version...4.70. I have come across this from time to time & NTAC has always recommended the latest software.

Thanks for the replies. These six Ext's are on two different Esi cards. The software version is 4.61. I did change the refresh timer from 4hrs to 8hrs. I'll uprade to a newer revision if the problem persists.

Are the two ESI cards on the same amphenol cable?

I had same problem a while back and found the amphenol was not seated securely... then whenever the telephone room door was slammed the amphenol vibrated and the "initializing" appeared.

As IPKII mentioned, you will want to remove the refresh timer in Prog 1-8-11

set it to NONE.
