Please help! I just started working for this firm...and they have a phone I have not worked with before...but we have added 4 of us newbies to the system in the last 2 months and I am given the task of updating the outgoing messages to list the correct names and extensions.

I have some basic instructions...but, and I feel silly saying this, the first instruction is "From the Main Menu..." but it doesn't tell me how the hell to get to the main menu!! It is driving me CRAZY! I have tried every combination of keys and buttons and numbers that I could find that reference this stupid phone and nothing gets me to the "Main Menu". I know this phone has the Main Menu where I can then type in a couple of numbers to get me in to the SA options...cuz I have seen it. For the life of me though...I can't figure out how to get there!

Please help. And if you can help with minimal laughing for what is probably incredibly obvious...it would be much appreciated! laugh

First of all we need to know the type of phone system you have, DTERM 80 is a phone that can be used on many different NEC systems.

Common systems are: Electra Elite 48/192, Elite IPK, Elite IPK II, IPS2000, IPX2400

Secondly, we'll need to know which voicemail system the PBX has in it.

Common Voicemails are: AD-40, AD-64, AD-120, Elitemail, Elitemail LX, Elitemail CTI

Then we should be able to steer you in the right direction.

On most NEC voicemail systems you can reach the main greeting by pressing # when the system asks for your security code.

Okay...so I had to try to figure this all out...and unfortunately, this is all I have...

The system is an Electra Elite IPK II.

As for the VM system...NO CLUE! I have gone through everything I can here in the office and can't find ANYTHING that references what the system is.

That said, I did find a way in through my own mailbox. I was finally able to do what I needed. Thank you for the help though. At least now I kinda know what I will need when future problems arise...and I have that information. I will be calling the installer to see if they know what our VM system is! :thumb:

If you have an IPKII your voicemail is most likley either an Elitemail LX or the INmail built in mail on the CPU of the PBX.

Glad you got it figured out.

From your original post, it seems that you may have the InMail.

Oww...InMail...yes...I think I saw that somewhere. The way it looked in the paperwork though...it didn't look like the "name" of the system! Oh good! Cool! Thank you so much for your help...now I know for the future in case there are any problems! I really appreciate the help!!! :thumb:
