I have a NEC IPK Elite 192 wich the DTMF tone generation has died. I have switched back and forth from DP to DTMF trying to reset (MB 3-92), Switch has been reset and MB 3-02 is set to two way. This is happening on both the T1 lines and the two DNH lines. And connecting a butt set I can dial out on the DNH, and I am not able to hear DTMF if dialing from MLT. I do have DT just not getting DTMF generation. The system has both a DTIU30 and a COI8U10 cards. My question is on wich Card does DTMF generation occur. The cpu is a CPU I (100) U10. What card do I need to order?
Any ideas, my customer is unable to call out, there are no SLI cards thus no Single analog phones.

I'm assuming it's the DTMF card (should be a card all by it's self) in that system. MIF-M U20 or perhaps the U10. The part number should be something like 750471...If you can locate yours get the part # and give me a call.

it is not the MIFM card that is for connection via serial port for SAT software, I am thinking the DTMF is created on the CPU card. Does any know this for a fact?

Sounds like it may be time for a new CPU.
EDIT: I just looked and I have a CPU-B 700 u10 with a KCB800 chip on it. Not sure what software you have but this would be fairly new and support caller ID etc...
If you're interested PM me. Would be super cheap. Use it to trouble shoot and send it back if it doesn't fix/help your problem.
Let me know.

The CPU does in fact contain the DTMF tone generator.

Thank you for your replies,
new question: What is the diffrence between a CPUI(100) and a CPUI(300?
I ran across this in the IPK hardware manual refrencing the CPU card note the DTMF generator.
"This ETU provides the following items: Time Division Switch (TDSW) Static Random Access Memory (SRAM) 32-bit Processor 25 MHz Clock 4-channel DTMF Push Button Receiver (PBR) Sixteen 4-party Conference Circuits Internal (digital music) Music-on-Hold source External Music-on-Hold input (also used for station background music) Flash ROM (FROM) **** Call Progress and DTMF Tone Generator **** Memory Backup Battery (Retains memory for approximately 21 days) Key Function (KF)/Multifunction (MF) Registration

100 and 300 just denote the software that came on the CPU from the factory.
A cpu 300 could have 600 or 700 series software upgrade on it. You would have to check the KCB chip or install the cpu into a cabinet and press [feature] 3 on a display phone to see the current software level.

Cpu Controls All DTMF, Get a Download of Data base first then Default CPU. Pull out all cards except CPU, CO, Leave 1 ESI Then Try to Dial out.
